Web Hosting: Troubleshooting GuideIf you have questions that are not asked and answered here, please submit a support ticket in your Client Area. If a file you've uploaded is not showing up on your page, there are a number of checks for you to make in troubleshooting. First, besure you have uploaded to public_html (or www - they're the same). Second, try going directly to the file's URL instead of clicking a link to get there; make sure you spelled the file name correctly. Third, check the link (if going from a link) to be sure the link matches the file name. All url's are case-sensitive (except for the domain.xxx part of the url), so if your file is actually named Image.html, then image.html WILL NOT WORK. *File Permissions must be set correctly in order for a file to be viewable. Files you upload will automatically be given 644 permissions, allowing them to viewed on the web. If for some reason, your files do not have the correct permissions, you can change them in your control panel. If your file is a script that requires different permissions than 644 (your script instructions will tell you what the files require) then set those either in FTP or File Manager, as well. Here is a breakdown of what the file permissions mean: The numbers you see represent the way in which the owner, group and world settings are set via FTP or your File Manager. The numbers are how you'll most often see the required permissions written. So, for the first line, 644, the permissions mean: The line 755 means: The line 666 means: The line 777 means: The wrong permissions on a script is the number one reason the script will not work. Check your instructions for your script, and set the permissions accordingly.
