About Morse Media

 

Co-owner, Marianne Morse, was trained in Film Production and has over 25 years experience in broadcast television operations and video production. Besides her comprehensive experience working in the cable industry as a producer, she "cut her teeth" directing news broadcasts for KVIQ-TV. In 2000 she founded Morse Media and has since produced numerous projects for many community-spirited groups on the Pacific Northcoast, small and large businesses, and individuals. She enjoys creating television commercials, marketing pieces and training videos for a variety of clients and has a special talent for "telling someone's story". Marianne also enjoys stepping into the print world as a project coordinator for special projects like Humboldt Area Foundation's Annual Report and Donor Yearbook. She and co-owner Bob have been married since 1988.

 

Co- Owner Bob Morse has over 17 years experience in the world of technology including web development, online marketing, and consulting. Bob, along with his wife Marianne, owns Morse Media (morsemedia.net) a multi-media development company in Eureka. He has built and managed dozens of web sites for organizations both large and small. Currently his focus in the company is on project management and business development.

Bob’s interests in technology, culture and community have led him in to various endeavors. Bob has written numerous articles on the Internet covering research, e-commerce and cyberculture. He has owned and maintained HumGuide, the popular local online portal since 2001 and is currently on the board of Redwood Area Information Network, a non-profit dedicated to building communication and information resources for the North Coast and the Redwood Technology Consortium. He is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for neglected and abused children.

Prior to moving into the technology field, Bob spent 20 years in professional and academic theatre. He has written, produced, directed and performed in everything from Shakespeare to the circus and applies these experiences to his multimedia work. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing.

 

Web Designer, Matt Hodgson brings a strong attention to detail and usability to the web sites that he designs. Creating clean, functional web sites is his forte. He has an Associate of Science Degree in Digital Media with an emphasis in Graphic Design and is proficient in html and css markup as well as graphics programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. His background as a software test engineer has given him excellent troubleshooting skills and a vast understanding of the user experience.

 

Programmer Scott Finney has many years working with Internet web applications. He is an expert in open source technologies such as PHP and MySQL.

 

Extended Team:
Morse Media also works closely with a group of professionals and can call on these experts for help in completing specific projects. This group consists of videographers, editors, musicians, graphic artists, web designers and programmers. This use of an extended team allows us to keep our pricing low and our time management efficient.
